Please join us on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 12:30p.m. - 2:00p.m. at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro to celebrate the 12th Annual Chefs Unite Luncheon!!! 500 people attend the Chefs Unite luncheon to help children at The House of the Good Shepherd. The event will feature delicious, signature dishes and desserts from local restaurants; and as always win amazing prizes!
Why is Chefs Unite important for the Children?
We believe every child should grow in a place that is friendly and familiar. A portion of the proceeds will help purchase furnishings and major appliances, which are in dire need of replacement and simply are not covered by public funding for several of our cottages on campus, such as B-Cottage, which provides residential services for 10 at-risk teenage girls. The girls come from many different backgrounds that include physical and emotional abuse, neglect, and behavioral and emotional difficulties. B-Cottage provides the girls with a stable home-like environment. When the girls feel safe and secure, they are able to focus on developing coping skills to help when they are reunited with their families.
Another way your donation may help children is by establishing an infant room at our Foster Care site and a recre- ational room which provides a space for birth and Foster Care parents to interact with the children to strengthen the ties and again, help the children feel more secure with their surroundings. You give children at The House a chance to feel safe and secure.
